PDAX now supports USDT0 on Plasma (XPL)

March 16, 2026

The world’s most widely used stablecoin based on market capitalization,  just got faster and cheaper. USDT0 is now available on PDAX via Plasma (XPL), unlocking a new level of speed and flexibility when it comes to stablecoin transactions. Whether you’re sending money across borders, experimenting with DeFi, or simply moving digital dollars more efficiently, this is a new on-chain option worth exploring.

What is Plasma (XPL)?

Plasma is a Layer 1 blockchain optimized especially for stablecoin payments. It’s designed from the ground up for high throughput, low‑cost transfers, and seamless movement of USDT across networks.

A standout feature: near zero‑fee USDT transfers, supported by Plasma’s protocol-managed paymaster system. This means users can send USDT for basic transfers without needing to keep XPL on hand just to cover fees. Plasma uses PlasmaBFT consensus for fast finality and anchors to Bitcoin for extra security.

It also supports EVM compatibility, meaning Ethereum smart contracts can be ported over with fewer changes.

What is USDT0?

USDT0 is an omnichain version of Tether (USDT), developed by Everdawn Labs using LayerZero’s Omnichain Fungible Token (OFT) standard. Unlike traditional USDT, which is tied to specific blockchains, the “USDT0” ticker refers to a token that can move seamlessly across multiple networks without traditional bridging. It is fully backed 1:1 by original USDT locked in secure smart contracts on the Ethereum mainnet.

USDT0 is a fiat-backed stablecoin issued by Tether, fully supported by dollar reserves, including cash, short-term U.S. Treasury bills, and other cash equivalents. While USDT0 maintains parity across chains, the Plasma network adds a unique advantage in terms of fee reduction, speed, and ease of integration for developers.

You can verify the total supply and reserves for USDT0 through Tether’s transparency page.

What can you do with USDT0 on Plasma?

Plasma’s optimized design brings stablecoin utility closer to the everyday user. With USDT0 on Plasma, you can:

  • Transfer stablecoins with zero or minimal fees
  • Use USDT0 in DeFi apps, smart contracts, or merchant tools
  • Settle payments or remittances across borders quickly
  • Move funds across networks using USDT0’s wide support

Unlike blockchains centered on speculation or NFTs, Plasma is built for utility. Its design supports real-world financial use cases such as payroll, cross-border payments, and retail merchant transactions with fewer barriers and lower costs.

This pairing brings together Tether’s trusted stablecoin with Plasma’s frictionless experience, unlocking a new rail for global digital money, making stablecoins not just a store of value, but a practical, fast, and widely usable tool for everyday finance.
